Song of Songs

Sex and the Search for Intimacy

If we’re being honest, most of us know that our culture is deeply hurting when it comes to sexuality. From scandals, to abuse, to confusion and culture wars, Christians only seem to be known by what they’re against rather than what they are for. But what if God gave us a vision of sex in the Song of Songs that pointed us to a deeper intimacy, an intimacy that God intended us not only to share with each other but also with Himself?

This brand new series will explore why sex has everything to do with God and what this search for intimacy we’re all on is all about.

This series, we’re thrilled to offer not only our usual podcast episodes, but also short videos that serve as an introduction to each episode. Finally, we now have PRINT editions of our beautifully designed companion study, available for $15 by clicking the button below.

Revelation

The Politics of Jesus

Perhaps the last place you’d expect to turn for politics is the book of Revelation. Yet the visions John portrays speak to a church under pressure from the politics of Caesar, wrestling with how the vision of the end might shape the way they witness, serve, and love the cities they found themselves in. Join us for a free eight week podcast series and purchase our 280 page companion study “The Politics of Jesus”, as we unpack how the politics of Jesus speaks to our own politics in the present.

The Burning Word is hosted by John Perrine.

Your host is someone who has experienced for himself the burn out of bible study and sensed the disillusioned despair that lingers like a cloud over millennial Christians living in a secular age. In his own journey however John through study and a renewed vision of the church, has experienced the hope he now seeks to gather and guide others to: an encounter with the living God through His burning word. John currently lives in Belfast, Northern Ireland with his best friend Jenna, a mental health therapist and creative director, as well as their baby girl Hazel Joy.  If you’re interested in talking to John, you can find him on instagram, twitter, or email him at burningwordpodcast@gmail.com
